Best cows ciose to profit sold at £7 10s to £lO, others £5 to £7 10s. haifers £3 10s to £8 15s. empty cow £3 10s to £5 Is, heifers £2 2s to £3 18s. calves 20s to 375, bulls £3 to £5 ss. Abraham and Williams Ltd. report on their Johnsonville sale as follows : - A fair entry of bullocks and a heavy one of sheep came forward and sold at equal to ruling rates. Prime bullocks £lO 15s to £lO 17s 6d, lighter £9 15s to £lO, light £9 sp, vealers 21s to 255, extra prime heavy wethers 23s 7d, prime wethers 21s, medium wethers 188, prime ewes 19s, good ewes 17a to 17s <ld, medium ewes 15s 6d to 16a 2d, prime lamb 15a to 15s 4d, lighter 14s 3 d to 14a 6d, others 13s 3d to 13s 6d. LONDON WOOL SALES. London, Wednesday. At the wool sales to-day guod merinos were firm. Faultiea were rather weak, and crossbreds unchanged. The following prices were realised for the fleece —portions of the clip named: —Orb: Top price, 10Jd, ave rage 9Jd. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have revived the following cablegram from their London house, under date 2nd inst.: — Ab compared with last sales closing rates prices are lower about 5 per cent, for greasy merino, fine greasy crosbred and medium greasy crossbred. About the same for crossbred scoured, greasy merino super, coarse greasy crossbred, crossbred slip?., lambs,- greasy merino medium, and scoured merino. Competition on German and French account is active. The demand onA merican account is restricted.
