The protesters threaten a universal suspension of work in Alsace and Lorraine. Count Wedel, a Btadtholder, admit! the military were wrong in taking action. Although in a state of seige it waß unproclaimed, the Kaiser's express consent being required. THE SWORD IN ALSACE. Received this day, £5.0 a.m. Berlin, Tuesday. Workmen at Zabern shouted an insult at Von Foerstner, who sent a patrol to arrest them. All ecaped except a lame 'shoemaker, whom, Von Foerstner Btruck on the forehead with his sword, inflicting a dangerous wound. Von Forestner declared the shoemaker was the aggressor. ROYALTY AND THE TANGO. THE KAISER'S DECREE. Received this day, 8.60 a.m. Berlin, Tuesday. The immediate cause of the KaiBer's anti-tango decree waa the discovery that the Crown' Princess was taking lessons in ultra-modern dances, and thst the Crown Prince was also interested in the tango.
