BOWLING.

The Te Kuiti green has been exceptionally well patronised this season, and interest in tne game is extremely keen. The form Bhown by the older players is well up to the standard, while a number of promising colts have joined the club this season. By the time the Easter tournament rolls romd there should be a really good first year team. The trophies presented by the club president, Mr A. Julian, for competition are providing additional interest and several keen contests have already been fought fur their possession. The challenge medal for the singles competition was held originally by Sutton, who lost it to Taylor, the latter in turn losing it to Power. Julian then vanquished Power, and after withstanding several challenges, lost to Power, who is the present holder.. The Julißn buckle? are at present held by Power and Howarth, the next game for these trophies being between the holders, and Matthew and Inder. The Cochrane ferns, which provided an immense amount of interest last season, are still being coveted by full rink teams. They were won from last season's holders by Me«irsß Power Taylor, Inder and Edgar, but this team was beaten by Messrs Matthew, Stevens, Howarth, and Finlay. These players have now Deen challenged by Messrs Williams, Cochrane, Albrechtsen, and Steel, and a good game is anticipated. Last season the Hamilcon and Te Kuiti clubs inaugurated an inter-club competition for challenge mugs,' the trophies being won by the Te Kuiti players, who subsequently defended them successfully till the end of the season. On Saturday last the Hamilton team, consisting of Meßßrs Whyte, Williams, Moncur, and Gillies (skip), again visited Te Kuiti in pursuit of the mugs. The Te Kuiti team consisted of Messrs Williarnß, Matthew, Cochrane, and Power (skip). Cochrane taking the place of Spencer, who waß one of the original winners of the mugs.
