OTOROHANGA COURT
SLY GTJOG CONVICTION. FINE OF FIFTY POUNDS. At the local Court on Thursday morning, before Mr Bawson, S.M,. David South was charged with vagrancy, keeping liquor for sle. bringing in liquor not labelled, and breaking a prohibition order. Accused pleaded guilty to all charges with the exception of the first. Constable Robinson said accused was arrested at Otorohanga on Friday night of last week with 23 bottles of whisky in his possession. He had served seven year? in gaol during the last 10 years, being convicted no less than 73 times. Accused said a mate named Smith had left he liquor in his charge, but had then cleared out. Accused was sentenced to three months' imprisonment for vagrancy, fined £SO or three months for keeping liquor for 3ale, sentences to be concurrent, and fined £2 on the other charges.
