Newton King reports: — At Stratford yards on Tuesday, lit* inst. I had a full yarding of cattle anc two pens of sheep. The cattle enterec were mostly yearlings and store cows, the latter meeting with an excellen! demand, anything with condition Belling readily at record prises. I had several buyers foi forward yearling heifers, and wag .able to dispose of 253 bead of this class at prices in the purchasers, favour. I supply price:—Yearling coloured heifers £3 10s to £3 15a, grade yearling heifers £Z 17s 6d to £2 5s 5 yearling bulls 35s to £3 ss, two year bulla £4 Is to £4 15s, cows and calves, small and low in condition £3 14s 6d, small fat cows £62 s to £6 Bs, forward cows £5 to £5 16s, fresh conditioned atore cows £4 01s to £4 19s, good stores to £4 12s 6d, small store cows £3 6s to £3 17s 6d, aged cows £2 Is to £2 ISs 6ci, steers as mentioned above. In the dairy pens 1 had a small entry, the enquiry being much quieter. Prices:—Dairy cows, guaranteed £2 10s to £8 10s. At my Stony River yards on the 12th ints., there was a fair entry, the majority being cleared as follows: —Yearling steers £2 oa to £2 19s 6d, eighteen months steers £4 Is, yearling bulls £1 17s 6d to £3 15s, grade bulls £5 10s to £l2, yearling heifers, Jerseys £3 19s 6d to £4 2s Sd, grades £2 4s to £2 ISs, forward cows £5 6s to £5 ISs, store cows £3 15s to £4 ss, small or aged store cows £2 to £2 19s, springing heifers £6 lis, empty two year heifers £3 103 to £4, hoggets 15s, weaner pigs 12s 6d.
