HIKURANGI ENGINE DRIVERS.

ALL CALLED OUT. Whangarei, Friday. The engine drivers at Hikurangi have now ceased work, in response, it is understood, to a call from their union. This will not prevent the pumps being kept going, as the mine officials, who all possess "tickets," have buckled to, and will keep the machinery working, even, if necessary, getting out coal if the stock above ground gives out. The firemen are still working as usual.
