Newton King reports:—

At my Stratford yards on September 30th., I had a fair entry )f all classes. There was a good attendance of the public, but bidding was quiet, consequently several pens were passed, but I was able to clear most of the yarding either at the hammer or privately at the fo lowing prices-—Year-ling heifers £2 6s 6d to £2 l!;s, small £1 lis, yearling Jersey bulls £1 17s to £2 10s, grade bulls £3 32s o'd to £5 ss, empty 2 year heifers £3 12s 6d to £4 2q, rough lines £3 7s 6d to £:j 10s 6d, two year steers £4 ss, three year bullocks £6 ss, aged stars cows £1 19s to £2 10s, light store cows £3 5s to £3 IBs, good store cows £4 to £4 Bs, and from £4 123 to £5 ss, for lines in forward condition, small fat cows £6 to £6 lis. In the dairy pens 1 had a fair entry cf springing heifers, but the quality was not up to previous yardings, best heifers sold verv readily making excellent prices, but the small or backward kinds were very bard of sale, and prices ranged from £3 10s to £3:? yg.

At my Stony River yards on Ist iiist., there was cr.ly a fair entry and attendance. marling steers made £2 39s to £3 3s, small or bad coloured £2 to £2 3s, yearling steers £ll 9a to £2 (is, bulls £2 10s to £4 10s, empty 2 year coloured Jersey heifers £4 18s, grades £3 12s to £4 store bullocks £7, aged cows 235, small store cows £3 to £3 6s, good store cows from £3 ids to £4 15a, for cows with condition, forward cows £5 to £5 16s, fat cows £0 ss, to £7, dairy cows £4 to £9 Is, springing heifers £4 to £B, purebred Berkshire pigs eight weeks 17s to 2s 6d.
