TARANAKI LAND BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING The ordinary monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held on Thursday, the Commisisoner of Crown Lands presiding. There were also present: Messrs J. Heslop, J. Rattenbury and A. Coxhead. Leave of absence wa3 granted Mr C. J. Ryan. The following business of interest o the King Country was transacted - — ' James Mullins aaplied tc transfer suction, 9 block 2, Totciro, 151 acres, to E. D. Warburton. —Approved. W. G. Collett applied to transfer section' 4, block 1, Aria, 181 acres, to E. A. and L. E. V. Billing. ■- Approve!. It wa9 resolved that the sale by auction on October 15th of lands shown on posters Nos. 275 and 27G ba approved. It was resoivsd that the provisional approval of T. H. P. Davey'a application for section 9, blodc 7, Mapara, bo confirmed. It wus resolved (o cm firm the approval in regard to dialing Fargie to Perrott as transfer instead of sunlease, on the commissioner being satified that all waa in ordar. Consideration of the application of the Ohura A. and P. Association for a showground at Niho Nino waa deferred. At the last meeting the application of W. H. Foreman fc-r part of „the stock reserve, section 8, block 8, Mimi, was deferred for a report from the ranger. He now reported that the section was not likely to bo required for Bome time, cs there weie saleyards at the junction of the Okau and Mokua roads. As W. Schmidt, the adjoining lessee, also wanted the section, the board decided to ask both Meesrs Foreman and Schmitdt to tener for a year to year lease of the place. Ranger Tohne reported on the ap plications by F. McDonald for a lease of 6 acres of scetion 13, block 1, Tangitu, and by J. Graham for permission to alter fencing line. The meeting granted, McDonald a temporary lease for five years at 10s per annum, and Graham waa permitted to occupy three acres at 5s per annum, subject in both cases to three months' notice.

J. C. Donnelly applied for additional land "adjoining section 13, block 11, Mapara. This was an area without access and unsuitable as a separate holding. A favourable report waa received from the ranger, and the application was granted. H. Gengea, selector of section 6, block 13, Otaura. wanted a piece of the Tatu township reserve to improve his fencing line. The ranger valued the land at £3 10s per acre and had laid off a suitable piece.— Approved. It was resolved tha* the price for the piece of road in section 7, block 10, Totoro, required by Messrs Alderson and Simpson, be fixed at £1 10s, area 1 acre 0 roodu 16 perches. It was decided to offer section 2, block 4, Mahoe, of 598 acres, for selection on the renewable lease at 20s per acre, to reoffer section 1, block 10, Mahoe. of 529 acres, for selection under part 3 of the Act at the same price, and to reoffer section 25, block 1, Tangitu, under similar terms, at £3. Miss A. E. Hagenson and Alfred Hagenson acquired section 5, block 6, Waro, by transfer on May 28th last, giving at the sax.e time an undertaking to fulfil residence conditions.
