The Daily Tolograph says that the Government's decision will occasion widespread disappointment, particualrly overseas. "Australia is anxious for advice and guidance; New Zealand ii hesitating how to further assist in naval defence; South Africa and Canada are also desirous of expert advice." THE AUSTRALIAN ATTITUDE. Received Tuesday, 8.25 p.m. Sydney, Tuesday. Mr Miller, commenting on the Defence Conference cable, said presuming the information was officially confirmed it would provide justification for deep regret. It would be unwise to say more at present, except to add that it would be important to know the reasons for the decision.
