The. second ballot, in which a number of {hose in the first ballot were eliminated, rdso failed to result in a definite election, Yuan'a vote going up to h<7 and I d-ymui-heng's ti 162.
M (lie third ballot Yuan shih-kai was elected with a total of 507 votes, Li-yuandnmr polling 179.
