KIO KIO.

Own Correspondent. The Kio Kio ladies gave a most enjoyable social and dance last Wednesday. The arrangements were most complete reflecting great credit on the secretary, Miss Johnsun, and her committee. The hall was very tastefully decorated with lanterns, flags and greenery, a special feature being the mass of clematis used in decorating the top end of the building-. A large and commodious dressing room had been erected for the men and all possible steps were taken for the convenience of the visitors. The mush and floor were of a high order. The supper supplied by the ladies was excellent. The weather conditions, however, were very unfavourable, so that the attendance fell somewhat below general expectations. Despite this, the floor was very comfortably filled, and those who had faced the rain and roads had a thoroughly good time. During the evening items were given by Mr and Mrs Patterson and by Mr O'Megre. A meeting was held on Saturday to organise a bazaar to bo held this month. The attendance at the meeting was very fair and there seems no doubt that the necessary work will be taken up by the ladies with their usual enthusiasm. Miss Phillips was appointed secretary and treasursr. Land continues to change hands. Mr W. Wylie, who has resided some years in the district, has disposed of hia property to Mr McGovern of Te Awamutu. Several transfers of leases have been -held up -indefinitely at Ranginui owing to lack of legal access to properties.
