FOOTBALL.
The game which was arranged to be played to-day at the Thames between the Maniapoto representatives and the Thames, fell through in consequence of a number of tra- Maniapoto players being unable to travel. Thi3 marks the end of the saason as far as Union matches are concerned. Unfortunately, the club games were interrupted as a result of the restrictions placed on Maoris travelling by train, and the premiership for the season remains unsettled. The Ofcorohanga team, which defeated Te Kuiti in the first round, had a lead for the championship, and a match between Ongarue and Te Kuiti was the subject of an undecided protest. Had the fixtures been continued there was every reason to anticipate good interesting
games. An Association game was played at Te Kuiti on Saturday last between the Hamilton Wanderers and Te Kuiti soccer players, resulting in a win for the visitors by 4 goal 310 nil. The Howden Cup "for which the Association players were competing, has been won by Huntly.
