During the year ended July 31st last there were three convictions in New Zealand against licensed liquor sellers for selling interior or adulterated liquor, two taking place at Rotorua, and one in Wellington. The sum of £SOOO voted by the Commonwealth Government in aid of the relief expedition for Dr Mawson and his companions in Adelie Land, together with the £OOOO raissci in Great Britain, will be sufficient to defray all the expenses connected with the exploration of hitherto unknown Antarctic regions, and to ensure the making public of she scientific results, which will be useful more particularly for Australasia in the forecasting
