COUNTY MATTERS.
REPRESENTATIVES IN WEL-
LINGTON. THE PIRONGIA RESERVATION. OPPOSED BY KAWHIA. Wellington, Friday. County chairmen from all parts are at present assembled at Wellington, silting in conference discussing matters of more particular interest to the country settler. The counties of Waipa, Waikato, Radar.. Waitomo, and Kawhia, are nil represented by I heir chairmen, who, as well as attending the conference are making the Pest of their opportunities in interviewing Ministers and heads of departments promoting the interests of their respective districts. During the week, Messrs Young, Bollard and Wilson, M's.P., have arranged quite a number of deputations to various Minsters. The Kawhia Chamber of Commerce is making a vigorous protest against the proposal to reserve 506 acres of the Moerangi block as a water and scenic reserve, as in the opinion of that body if would be detrimental to the interests of the district and the Dominion.ami as it would, considerably idicck progress yiM.l settlement, representing a considerable loss in revenue
