BACKBLOCKS TELEPHONES.
M ANG AOH AE-MOEATO A CONNECTION. The settlers ot' the district affected have been agitating for a considerable time past for the completion by the department of the telephone con necfcion between Mar.gaohae and Moeatos. The distance cf a few miles between the points mentioned causes a break in the through connection between Te Kuiti and and Marokopa and the desirability of having the connection established has been repeatedly emphasised. It is gratifying to learn that the department has intl mated the connecting link will be made providing the sum of £t> is guaranteed by the settlers. There is no doubt the required guarantee will readily be forthcoming, and the work will be started at an early date. The settlers wish to convey their thanks i to all who assisted in the matter including Mr C. K. Wilson, member for the district, and the Te Kuiti I Chamber of Commerce.
