Newton King reports: — Cn Wednesday, 18th inst., at Puniho for a clearing sale in the estate of the late W. J. Stevenson I had an excellent attendance and good competition right through for all lines offered. The cow 3 were a mixed line in poor condition and calving right through the year. Bidding, however, was brisk for all best quality cows, a very satisfactory sale resulting. Best young cows sold at from .£9 10s to £ll, others poor in condition or carrying rather much age £5 15s to £S. empty cows £3 15s to £5 ss, bulls £3 53 to £5 15s, springing heifers £5 7s 6d to £7, small heifers in calf £3 15s to £4 12s 6d. The horses were a good lot, the half-draught gelding Punch realising £3O, 4yr filly £27 10s, 3yr colt £l7, yearling £lO 10s, brrood mare £7 10 3, hack £7 15s, mixed yearlings £2 10s, weaners 245, calves 7s. ■ Private Sales.—The inquiry is good for all classes of stock especially steers, anv age, for which I have an unsatisfied demand. Good grade yearling heifers have showed an improvement in values. I have to report paddock sales at the following prices:— Yearling steers £2 14s to £2 15s, mixed yearlings £2 to £2 12s 6d, 2yr steers, good £4 10s, oothers £3 12s 6d to £4 2s, dairy herd £8 to £l2, fat cows £6 15s to £S, choice line of yearling Jersey heifers, all good colour? £5, grade Shorthorns up to £2 18s, springing and in-calf heifers £7 to £5, good lines of store cows £4, empty 2yr heifers £3 15s to £4, mixed 2th sheep 16s, hoggets lis to 14s 3d, fat wethers 21s 3d, store wethers 17s, good lines of 4 and 6th ewes in lamb 18s 6d to 19s (k\, ewes in lamb, mixed ages lis 6d to 17s 3d.
