Mr Newton drew the bank revolver from under his pillow, ami challenged the intruder, luii the man. whose form was not easily dis-tni-guishablo in the darkness, made r. dive for one of the back rooiri?, and escaped through a small window which had evidently been his mean. 1 - of entrance. Mr Newton's bed Was in the banking ehumbor. which Was naturally the objective. The police were duly in formed. but so far no arrest has been made.
