The star picture is a pictorial adaption of an historical story in Cromwell'fl time, "The Wives of Jamestown,' in two act*. Bryan O'Sullivan, a stalwart Irish lad of humble birth, passes through the estate of his piHi- and rescues the Lady Geraldine whoso boat has capsized. So frank and cordial is the Lady Geraldine that Bryan, forgetful of his station, falls madly in- love with her. She amuses herself by encouraging him. Knowing that he cannot gain his wish he sends a message of farewell to her and takes passage for America. He dettles at Jamestown, Virginia, where he becomes John Pierce, colonißt. Lady Geraldine then learns that her heart belongs to Bryan. A few years after these events, Lady Goarldine's castle is beseiged by Cromwcllians. She iH sent with others to bo sold as wives to the Jamestown colonists. John, standing quietly by is suddenly startled by the arrival of Lady Geraldine with her unhappy companions. She sees he is honest and o)lVrn to become his wife. Later f<h« i'md" that John Pier<e, her hus!>.)n:i, ij; none other that Bryan O'Sulin sin, and love < laimn its own.
