King Country Chronicle Saturday, August 9th, 1913 TE KUITI DAIRY COMPANY.

The annual meeting of the Te Kuiti I Co-operative Dairy Company furnishes ! satisfactory proof of the manner in | which the dairying industry is proj gressing is the district The interest ; evinced by the shareholders was highly I gratifying, and the manner in which | the statement of the year's working | was received indicated that the man- | agement had the confidence of the suppliers. L. reviewing the history of the company there can he no doubt the settlers of the district are deeply indebted to the original promoters of the scheme for establishing in the district a co-operative concern which is destined to play such an important part in the progress of a widespread area. That the influence of the company is widespread is indicated by the fact that supplies are drawn from all quarters of the King Country, and that such influence is destined to be permanent is shown by the personnel of the directorate, the members of which are drawn from a very wide circle. It is highly gratifying to know that the confidence of the promoters of the company is being fully justified, and that the decision to start the company without the usual guarantee being demanded from suppliers was wise is be coming more strongly emphasised as the operations of the company expand. The growing popularity of the company with suppliers is doubtle-s due in a great measure to the fact that the concern is purely co-operative, and the shareholder? have complete control of the busiess. This in also a tribute to the foresight and public spirit of those who took the heavy responsibility necessary to start the factory, and in calling attention to the fact at the meeting Mr Boddie was but doing justice. to those who had performed a worthy action cnrirely in the public interest. The prospects of the dairying industry in the district are of the brightest description, and it is now a matter of sound business management to place the company in an enviable position among the successful factories of the Dominion, it is only natural to ex pect that with such a recently established concern, having such an enormous expansion in business during its first season, the estimates formed at the opening of the season would be exceeded, and th"t various matters affecting the di lie rent suppliers would require close attention. The company is fortunate in having the seivicea of such an experienced and capable chairman as Mr Boddie ha.- proved himself to be and with thoroughly representative directorate there is :m doubt the concerns of the shareholders >vi 11 be administered in the best, interests of the shareholders and suppliers generally.
