A policeman oJ' Londonderry, Constable McCarney. suddenly became insane to-day. .He seized a rille al the barracks and stationed himself on the stairs. He wounded two constable? who attempted to disarm him, one dangerously, and then Hod. half droned, into the streets. Here he wounded several civilians, and then took refuge in a brickfield. Eighty police now surround the brickfield, here the madman is hiding. He is well supplied with ammunition. STILL AT LARGE. ! THE COUNTRYSIDE TERRORISED Received this day, H. 20. London, Tuesday. The countryside is terrorised by Ihe falure to capture McCarney. the mad 'policeman who ran amok, and took refuge in a spot honeycombed with subterranean passages.
