■*- EMPRESS THEATRE. At the Empress Theatre to-night the Btar picture is a tbrillng story of military intrigue entitled "For Their Country." featuring the favourte - Continental actres3 Sahareb. An officer in a Continental army determine? to procure copies of fortifications, pins of a neighbouring power. With the aid of his aweetheurt he succeeds, but only after the most stirring series of events. The play is moat lavishly mounted, the ball room scene being especially effective. The environment of the 3tory is amidst scenes of gorgeous splendour, and plot is pourtrayed by a most capable company of Continental artists. The Wteat Australian Gazette will be shown, and the remainder of the pro gramme is of the usual high order.
