TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held on Thursday in the District Lands Office, New Plymouth. There were present: The Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr G. H. Bullard) in the chair, Messrs J. Heslop, J. Rattenbury, C. J. Ryan and A. Coxhead. LAND APPLIED FOR. Applications for land were approved as follows: —Sections 2 and 29. Spotswood, John Buckley; section 4, block 4, Kapara, C. S. Menefy; section 31, block 3, Aria, J. Martin. The allotment of section 4, block 5, Totoro, to L. D, Nicholls was approved, he having divested himself of land held in the Nelson district. TRANSFERS. Applications to transfer Were dealt with as follows: — L. R. Curtis to A. Paulger, section 4, block 4, Huiroa.—Refused. W. J. Welsh and T. McLellan to H. W Boviß and T. McLellan, section 9, block 15, Omona. —Approved. M. Wolfsbauer to J. T. Smith, section 8, block 11, Ngatimaru. Approved. Thomas Hastie,. to John Harvey, sections 21 and 22. block 16.

Reeve, sections 11, block 9, and 8, block 5, Ngatimaru, and other land comprising a total of 973 acres, valued at £10,216, in exchange for 313 acres of leasehold land valued at £lßso.—Approved, subject to the Commissioner being satisfied in regard to the amount of consideration. Voullare, section 8, block 9, Kaupokonui.—Approved. New Plymouth Borough Council to T. G. Sole, part section 216, New Plymouth.—Approved. T. G. Sole to New Plymouth Borough Council, part section 2143, New Plymouth.—Approved. Jno. O'Sullivan to J. Wallis, section 4, block 6, Kaupokonui. Refused. T. Henry to J. E. Young, sections 1 and 2, block 4, Omona. —Sub leaße approved. Young to be informed that the Land Board does not bind itself to agree to his acquiring a transfer of the section. GENERAL. After hearing Mr Rattenbury, it was resolved to take no action until May, 1914, in the case of M. L. Gausted licensee of scetion 5, block 12, Upper Waitara, who had failed to fulfil residence conditions and had neglected to take advantage of the three months granted by the board. In the meantime selector ha? to bring improvements up-to-date and find a suitable transferee. A. J. and E. G. Finnerty, selectors of section 9, block 5, Mahoe, were granted a further and final extension of time for three months to enable one of them to fulfil residence conditions. —Approvved. Porter and Price, having neglected to sign their license for section 12, block 11, Mapara, within the time specified by section S3 of the Land Act, their interest was declared to be forfeited. David Paul having failed to complete his offer for the lease of an island in theW aitara river, the negotiations were cancelled. It. order to assist in winding up the estate the applications of the Public Tru3tee to sub-divide and transfer section 4, block 6, Egmont, to J. Houlahan, and section 7 to J. Swann, were approved. McMullen and Herlily hold section 9, block 1, Pouatu, under 0.R.P., and as T. McMullen stated that the other partner had done nothing and he could not carry on by himself, the section was declared abandoned, and the license was cancelled. The issue of the freehold title to section 17, block 12, Ngaire, held under O.K.P. by John Granville, was approved. It was decided to insert in the deferred payment license of section 7, block 9, Ngaire, held by J. T. Lindsay under L.1.P., "all conditions of L.I.P. tenure other than rent, residence and improvement?."
It was decided to certify 1 that M. O'Shea, lessee of sections 16 and 17, block 11, Ngaire, is entitled to the issue of a Crown grant, the payment of purchase money having been completed. approval was given to the proposals of: the Waitomo County Council for expenditure of thirds amounting to £BIB lis. Proposals by the Ohura County Council for expenditure of thirds, £672 Is 9d, were approved. The issue of lease for section 12, block 14, Ohura, held under Improved Farm conditions by John Nicol, was approved. Approval was given to the proposal to issue license for section 2, block 4, Aria, held by A. Sangsteron Improved Farm conditions. The isHue of a license tor section 3, block 4, Aria, held by H. J. Ford, was authorised. The matter of approving of a temporary lease of part of Stock Reserve section 8, block 8, Mimi, applied for by W. H. Foreman, at a rental to be fixed after inspection by a ranger, was deferred for further enquiry. Particulars of a block of 5559 acres in Mahoe survey district, subdivided into seven sections, were approved of for offering under optional condi-
