Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Falmerßton North, and Gorton and Son, Feilding. report having held a most successful clearing sale on account of Messrs Cornfoot and Hogg at their homestead, Mingiroa, Kakariki. on Thursday. ]oth inst.. when they offered some 3200 Bheep. 108 dairy cows and heit'nrs, and 120 head of mixed young cattle to very largo attendance, buyers being present from up the Main Trunk line and Wanganui river. The sheep met with the keenest of competition and sold readily at the following prices:—Cull hoggets 4s 8n to 7s Sd. small wether lambs 9s 7d, medium ewe lambs Us 9d, very fair ewe lambs 13s (id, mixed aged purebred Southdown ewes l|gne. Southdwn ewe lambs 1" gns, 4-tooth Southdown ewes 2Jg". 2 tooth Southdown ewes 3gns. South down ram lambs 4.;gns, Stud Southdown ram 7gns; bad coloured weaner steers 20s 6d. very small weaner heifers 2;">f>. medium weaner heifers 35s to 385, medium weaner steei'3 3 is, small yearling steers £2 14s fid, small yearling heifers 4. r ig. bulls £4 5g to £4 10s, 2 year steers £4 Bs, forward cows £4 Gs, dairy heifers £fi ss, inferior, backward and A teated cows £3 to £l. late calvers £5 ti £fi ss. medium quality cows £fi to £7. fair quality cows £7 to £9. best cows £lO 10s to £l4 15s. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co.. Ltd., report:- - At the Borough yards, Hamilton, on July 9tb, we held our annual dairy cow sale when just over 400 head of dairy cows and heifers in calf were submittted. Buyers were present from all parts of the district and wi'h a very few exceptions all lines wero disposed of at prices much in advance of those ruling lately. The cattle were generally of a good type, and had been well wintered. Altogether the sale as a highly satisfactory one. and as the most successful of the annual dairy sales held at these yards. Several whole dairy herds sold readily, best coat making from £7 10s to £lO 15s, more backward sorts £5 ss"to £6 Is, best Jersey-Holstein cross heifers £9 to £ll "is. best Shorthorn cross heifers £6 15s to £S 15s. medium heifers £5 10s to £<> 10s. backward serts £4 Is to £5 ss. At Tirau on July 7th we held a clearing sale on behalf of Mr J. Fraser. Dairy cow? made from £3 15s to £8 ss. weaner calves, heifers £2 3s. ste >.rs 275. implements and sundries at usual rates. On July 10th we held a clearing sale at Mr W. B. Ellery's farm, at Hinuera. of the dairy herds and young cattle on behalf of Mr Ellery and Mr Fredk. Jones. There was a large attendance from all rjarts of the district. The stock being in good condition competition was keen, and the 150 dairy cows averaged just under £7. calves and yearlings 35s to 52s fid. rising two year steers £3 18s to £1 ss, medium draught horses £22 to £32, potatoes (5s fid per cwf.. weaner pigs 6a to 8b (id. sows £1 to £6, slips 30s, imlements and sundries at usual rates.
