A SUDDEN DEATH.

A MANGAORONGO SETTLER. A settler named James Armstrong, at Maihiihi, near Mangaorongo, died suddenly on Saturday afternoon, about three o'clock. He fell down in a fit, started to froth at the mouth, and expired in about half an hour. Dr Leeper. of Otorohanga, was sent for, and went out in company with Constable Robinson, but could only pronounce life extinct. Deceased was about 10 years old, and was an old identity in the King Country. He took up a section in the Rangitoto No. 2 Block Settlement about four years ago. He leaves a widow with a family of five or six small children.
