SMALL POX IN SYDNEY.

THE DISEASE SPREADING. SIMILAR TO NEW ZEALAND OUTBREAK. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Cop> risiiit Received this day, 9.30 a.m. Sydney, This Day. It looks as if the precaution taken to restrict the small pox to Sydney are unavailing. Three suspicious cases reported in three separate country centres. The authorities anticipate the spread of the disease but no increase in virulence. So far twenty thousand have been vaccinated, including the Lord Mayor and many members of the Parliament staffs. Business firms are vaccinal ing wholesale. Dr Patton, on the strength of a New Zealand wire is of opinion the epidemic among the Maoris is a similar oatbreak to that in Sydney. He is not surprised to hear a Bimilar epidemic has obtained a looting in other States, though the Btricteat precautions have been taken there. All mail matter is fumigated and the restrictions are causing a great falling off in inter-State traffic.
