FOOTBALL.
VISIT TO ROTORUA. The Maniapoto representatives to play against Rotorua on Saturday will leave on Friday morning, arriving at Rotorua on Fricay evening. The team which is under the management of Mr A Scboles, is a fairly good combination, though not by any means representative of the full strength of the Union. However, the players should give a good account of themselves A fair number of supporters will accompany the team, which will arrive back on Monday afternoon. The following have been chosen to represent Rotorua : Pull-back. Tuoro; three-quarters, A. Clarke. G. Rogers and Purcell; five-eighth?, Mitchell, Tapiri; half, H. Rogers; forwards, Vercce (wing), Emery, Wihau, Coulter, Walker, McDermont, Rua, Melville. The team is stated to be a strongcombination, though four of the leading players who bßve been touring Australia with the Maori team are not included. MANIAPOTO RUGBY UNION.
The Management Committee oz the above union met in the Chronicle office last evening. Mr G. Berry presided. The secretary reported that he had received a football from the South Auckland Union for school competition.—Resolved that the South Auck- *" land Union be thanked for their gift. A protest received from the Te v Xuitt Club was referred to the South Auckland Union. The secretary of the Waipa Union wrote stating that Ui3 union could not play at Te Kuiti on July 19th.—It was resolved that a date be arranged with the Waipa Union for a match 'to be played at Te Awamutu. A number of junior players were registered for the Oorohhanga and Te Kuiti Clubs. Several accounts were passed for payment. Resolved that the affiliation fee be forwarded to the South Auckland Union. The secretary was requested to make arrangements for a reserved carriage for the team leaving for Rotorua on Friday morning. Th 6 secretary reported that the new rep. jerseys were to hand. After a large amount of general discussion on matters affecting the union, the meeting adjourned.
