ST. JOHN'S AMBULANCE CLUB.

MEETING AT TE KUITI. From time to lime at Te Kuiti a certain degree of interest has , been aroused in connection with the establishing of a St. John's Ambulance Club, but hitherto the efforts though supported for a time, have proved unavailing. ' There is every indication, however, that the support which can be obtained for the / movement now will be of a lasting nature, and it is intended to establish a branch of the society at the earliest possible' time. Already there is an ambulance room attached to the local Fire Brigade station, and it iB intended to thoroughly equip the room with all the necessary plant for use in cases of emergency. It is pleasing to learn that the local medical practitioners have arranged to give, a series of ten lectures on ambulance work and the opportunity should not be; lost of obtaining such valuable knowledge. Nobody can tell when information gathered in this manner may be the means of alleviating suffering or of saving life, and the call should not be neglected .by young or old. ' '., A public meeting to discuss- the matter is called for Friday evening next at 7.30 o'clock in the Municipal Hall and it is to be hoped a good attendance will result.
