TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held on Thursdav, when there were presentMessrs G. H. Bullard, Cmmissioner of Crown Lands, in the chair, J. Heslop, J. Rattenbury, and A. Coxhead. Mr Ryan was granted leave of absence Ihe chairman and Messrs Heslop and Rattenbury welcomed Mr Coxhead, who took his seat on the board for the first time, and the new member suitably responded. APPLICATIONS TO TRANSFER. Transfers were dealt with as follows: The application for transfer from L. R. Curtis to Albert Paulger, section 4, block 4, Huiroa, was deferred until next meeting, the parties to be present for examination. F. J. Hallmond to Mrs H. E. Pellingham, section 5, block 5, Totoro.— Approved. W. Leighton to L. C. Brown ; section 9, block 10, Mahoe.—Approved. Public Trustee in the estate of C. G. Coventry to Benjamin Coventry, section 8, block 6, Aria.—Approved James Penniall to Herbert Brisco, section 76, block 6, Ngaere.*— Approved. J. W. Tompkins and H. K. Fagan to I-I. K. Fagan and J. McEwen, section 5, block 8, Ohura.— Deferred unti'. next meeting, Tompkins to attend and explain his position. H. Jones tu A. McLean, sections 4. 5, 47, and 48 Stratford.—Approved. J. S. S. Hamerton applied to ex change section 1 and part section 2, block 14, Ngatimaru, with Julius Jacobsen for section 3. block 4, Omona, and sections 4, 8, and 9, block 4, Omona —ADproved. H. H. and W. C Judd to Hugh Campbell., sections 9, 15, and 16, block 2, Omona, and section 13, block 14, Ngatimaru in exchange for section 1, block 8, and - section 4, block 7, Mi:ni. — Approved. MISCELLANEOUS. G. E S. Daniell'3 application fo. freehold of sections 1 and 4, block K, Mapara, was left in the hands of thv Commissioner. J. Pattillo applied for issue cf license for section 16, block 2, Mapara. —Approved. R. B. Douglas appiled for renewa": oflease of section 8, block 1, Rehu Village.—Approved. W. H. Hebb appiled for lease of section 33, block 4, Matiere township, Public Buildings reserve.—Approved. The proposal to offer sections 1, 2, and 3. block 47, town of Waitara East, for sale" by public auction was approved. It was decided to offer for sale by public auction section 172, Oakura, at an upset price of £lO. Chas. Watchorn, lessee of sections 8 and 9, block 3, Omona, applied for a deferred payment license of these sections, and it was proposed to issue the license without any special conditions as to residence and improvements, as theae conditions were fulfilled under tha lease.—Approved. J. A. Carr the lessee of section 52, bio ± 4, Paritutu, appiled to purchase tfcii section on deferred payments. It was proposed that the license should include the residence and improvement conditions of the lease.—Approved. F. J. Wilton applied for a reduction in the valuation of section 3, block 8, Upper Waitara. —Th9 board has not the power to reduce , but the selcztor could surrender, and have the section re-offered for public selection at a reduced rental loaded with the valua of improvements. The proposals for expenditure of thirds were approved as follows: Taranaki County Council £34 Is lid, Whsngamomona County Council £9O 6s lid. Thirds ro Wairoa Read Board £2O 6s lOd, Motoroa Road Board £1 13s lOd, Patea County Council £7B 5s lid, Ohura County Council £2BB lis 7d, were approved subject to their being in order. Valuations of sections 'surveyed by Mr Lysons in block 10, Mapara, were submitted for approval, with a view to offering the land for selection on renewable lease conditions. —Approved of prices and subdivision.
