ROBBERY UNDER ARMS.
MAN AND YOUTH ARRESTED. A SENSATIONAL CONFESSION. By Telegraph.—Press AsuooiatJon.- OopyniflH Sydney, Friday. On April 24th the residence of Captain Cox, was burglariously entered and jewellery stolon. Yesterday the two Misses Cox were alone in the house, their brother Ray, aged sixteen, having just previously loft, when a knock was hoard at the door, Upon it being opened a masked man presented a revolver. One girl struck the intruder., who knocked her down. Her sister came to her assistance, and there was a lengthy struggle, the girls sustaining wounds to their heads and body. The intruder decamped with a valuable ring. Earlier in the night a man named Lojj:gat was driving on Belmoro road when two masked men with revolvers bailed him up and demanded money, obtaining over £3O. Leggatt jumped out of the buggy and started to run. One of the highwaymen fired, wounding him in the arm. Both decamped. There was a sensational development to-day. A man named Laurence and Roy Cox were arrested and remanded on a charge of commiting the robbery on April 24th. The arrests were the result of a confession by Roy Cox that it had been arranged that Laurence should rob his sisters. He also confessed that he and Laurence should hold up Leggatt, by whom young Cox was employed. A revolver was found in Laurence's room.
