ARAPAE.
Own Correspondent. The settlers on the Trooper's road are moving in the direction of having a telephone service established to connect with the Arapae Post Office. It is probable the line will be erected by the settlers themselves, either as a private undertaking or under the provisions of tVe Country Telephones Act. This will be a decided boon to the district, which lies somewhat out of the beaten track, though it is only about ten miles from Te Kuiti The settlers are busy preparing for next milking season, and the majority will be supplying to the Te Kuiti Factory next season. Messrs Larsen, Buckley, Christensen, Marx, and Gould have got their preparations well'in hand, and a substantial supply should be forthcoming. The road is practically metalled throughout, and there should be no difficulty in running the cream waggon henceforth.
