MARAKOPA REQUIREMENTS.
FACTORY MANAGER APPOINTED Own Correspondent. Out of seventeen applications for the position of manager of the Mara kopa Dairy Company, E. J. Wier, of Parua Bay, was appointed. Taking advantage of Awakino County bfling operative, a meeting of settlers was held at Kiritehere on Saturday night, having for its object the metalling of the road ' between Moeatoa and Marakopa, a distance of twelve miles. The meeting wasi enthusiastic, and proposed a loan of £3OOO, applcation for a £ for £ subsidy t) be made. The enthusiasm in connection with possbility of carrying out the scheme is a further strong argument in favour of the Mangakahope and Pomerangi roads being widened and formed. Cr Patterson was present, and was entrusted with obtaining all possible information to commence negotiations.
