Ernest Rolan Birdling, who styled himHelf Detective Rainey, was yesterday charged with obtaining credit for £B, hire of a motor car, by false pretences. Accused pleaded not guilty, and was committed for trial. Bail was allowed in accused's own recognisance of £SO.
