OTEWA.

Own Correspondent. A meeting of suppliers to the Waikato Co-operaive Dairy Company was held at Otewa on Monday. Mr Goodfellow was present to represent the company, and there were a large number of suppliers present. Mr Cooper was in the chair. Mr Goodfellow gave a short account of the firm's business during the past season. Several questions were asked and satisfactorily answered. The meeting passed a vote of thanks to Mr Goodfellow. As an outcome of a meeting held several days ago, it was decided to form a branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union at Otewa. A further meeting was held in the Tahaia schoolroom on Saturday, at which Mr Hudson was present by .request, and explained the working of the Farmers' Union as he knew it. ]t was unanimously decided to form an Otewa branch, Mr Larsen being elected chairman, Mr Cooper vice-chairman, and Mr Ferguson hon. sec., with Mr Porter as auditor, and Messrs Lindsay, Plier. Johnson, and Barber as the executive committee. It is expected that this branch will do good work for the union, and also will in its official capacity do much for the benefit of the district, which has the land and the settlers, but wants organisation.
