COMMERCIAL.

MARKET REPORT. J. R, Graham reports as under: — Money, while still tight and interest higher, is likely to contniue so longer than We have been accustomed to. The extreme stringency which prevailed a few months ago is somewhat released, and money can now be got for legitimate enterprises. Land buyers are now coming North, and within the last few weeks we have been able to place some recent properties- Town sections are also moving, particularly in Te Kuiti. The fall in prices asked has undoubtedy done much to stimulate the demand. At our Otorohanga branch we have built a large mart, and are in a good position to cater for local wants, being agents for Messrs Williams and Kettle, the well-known Hawko's Bay seed people; Messrs P. and D. Duncan, imlemenfcs; the International Harvester Company: and fire accident and employers' indemnity, on account of the National Company. We have conducted clearing sales of stock and household goods for Messrs Bennett, Willis. Falwasser. FitzGibbon, Moore, Bungay, Cassolls, and others, at all of which satisfactory clearances have been effected, this being a side to our business in which many years of experience enable us to realise to the best advantage. Feed stuffs are showing rises all along the line, and we do not anticipate a drop until spring. Potatoes.—The market is somewhat easier.

Pigs and poultry are somewhat, dull of sale, with the exception of good table birds. Horses. —There is still a good demand for good sorts, but loeni sellers are asking more than outside market, rates, nd consequently make business somewhat hard to do. Second-hand traps and gigs and farmers' implements meet a ready sale.
