AUCKLAND RACING CLUB. [BY TEI/KGRAPU. PE.KSK ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, This Day. The Auckland Racing Club has allotted stakes for meetings next season, which includes the Auckland Exhibition festivities, as follows: — Spring £6OOO, Autumn .£6690, Winter £7420, Summer £15,930, total £35,740. Stakes allotted to principal events are: —King Edward Memorial £IOOO, Autumn Steeplechase £4OO, Great Northern Champagne Stakes £IOOO, and Winter Steeplechase £750. The prize money for the Auckland Cup is kept at £2OOO, but a cup valued at £l5O will be added. GREAI NORTHERN MEETING.
Auckland, This Day. The A.E.C. Winter Meeting opened to-day in brilliant weather. The course is in excellent order, and the attendance large. Results: — Maiden Steeples.—Dorando 1, Delegate 2, Hunakaha 3. Scratched: Bravest, Sphinx, and Slaney. Going up the hill the last time Delegate was in charge, followed by Dorando, and Hunakaha. At the laat fence Dorando and Delegate were on terms, the former winning by half a length. Time £>min S 3-ssec.
