Telephone 76 Everyone will regret the fire which on Wednesday morning reduced to ashes the dwelling house and contents, the property of Miss Mackenzie. The fire brigade with their usual promptitude were quickly on the scene and did good work considering they had no water —a regrettable circumstance indeed. While sympathising with Miss Mackenzie we must not forget the consoling fact that "every cloud has a silver lining." The property destroyed was fortunately insured for a small amount. Singularly enough four twenty five pound sections, each containing an acre and .uninsured were spared by the demon fire.
