There has been a failing off in the number of co-operative labourers on Government railway and road works this year, compared with previous years. , The number of artisans and labourers employed on co-operative workß throughout New Zealand during the month of March was as follows: —Railways, 2118; roads, 2254. In February the number was: Railways. 2011; roads, 2242. For January: Railwavß, 1697; roads, 4169. In March, 1911, there were 3802 men working on railway works and 7000 on road works. The totai number of men employed on co-operative works in 1911 waß 10,802, and in March this year 4372.
