FIRE BRIGADE CONCERT.
A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION.
The concert in aid of the aecident and general funds of the Te Kuiti Fire Brigade, held in the Town Hall Town Thursday evening wa? well attended. Mr R. M. Somerville, chairman of the Fire Prevention Committee, occupied the chair, and the function was under the patronaae of the Mayor and members of the Borough Council. An excellent programme had been arranged, and the musical and vocal items and recitations were creditably rendered. Mr Lipßcombe made a highly capable accompanist, and the secretarial duties were ably carried out by Mr F. H. Needham. As a result of the concert the funds of the Brigade will benefit considerably. The Te Kuiti Brass Band kindly assisted by playing selections at the hall prior to the concert. Following is the programme:— ' Part I. Overture. —Messrs Lipscombe, Bartley, and Clapham. Sung.—"What Care I." Mr Blackman. Sailor's Hornpipe. Mr Ronald Harding. Song.—"Roamin' in the Gloamin'." — ' Masie Rawlinson. Pianoforte Solo. —Miss Ivy Graham.

Dodge. Recitation. "The Captain's Whiskers." —Miss Nina Fleming. Song.—"There Let Me Rest." —Fireman B. Guy. Song.—"Hope, Love and Faith." — Mrs Clark. Plantation Song and Dance. Mr Ronald Harding. c Part 11. Selection.— Municipal Band. Song.—"Just Plain Folk." —'Miss M. Sheehan. „ Duet.—"The Battle Eve." —■ Messrs Biackman and Dodge. Pianoforte Solo. —Miss Nina Fleming. Comic Specialty.—Mr Ronald Harding Violin Solo.—Mr B. Clapham. Duet.—"Life's Dream is O'er" —Miss Sheehan and Mrs Clark. Song.—"Will You Love?".—Fireman B. Guy.
