PIO PIO.
Own Correspondent. A meeting, called by Dr McLeod for the purpose of forming an ambulance club, was fairly well attended here en Thursday last, and apologies also came from absent ones. It was decided to begin the courses on Thursday, 15th inst., one for ladies at 2 pm. and another for gentlemen at 7.30 p.m. The course of lectures is in affiliation with the St. John Ambulance Association, and the membership fee is but nominal. That such lectures will be highly appreciated here by the people needs no further comment. Accidents in the backblocks are of common occurrence, and a person who is able to give first aid until the arrival of a doctor is not only giving relief to the sufferer, but in a goo 3 many cases may even save that person's life. We now have the rare chance of obtaining such information and it behoves every one of us who can possibly spare the time to attend. Before the meeting closed a hearty vote of thanks was accorded Dr McLeod for the interest shown in starting the lectures, which he is giving gratuitously.
