AMUSEMENTS.

"THE FOLLIES.'

At the Town Hall this evening an opportunity will ba given Kuitians to hear and see a very clever combination, "The Follies" are headed by that clever comedian, Percy Clifton, and when mention is made of the fact that this artist was the bright attraction of the "Arcadians" it goea with out saying that the supporting cornrjany will have a clever load in the. noted comedian. We have been advised that the entartainment is absolutely clean and bright, and a thoroughly enjoyable evening should be spent. The Lusanne Sisters are very clever in thier turn and Messrs Black and Edgar, sketch artists; Clifford O'Keefe, basso; H. Steyne, coniadain; and Gerald Branson, baritone; and Miss Cissy O'Keefe, late of Pollard's Opera Co., contralto will assist materially to the success of the entertainment. Owing to the heavy downfall of rain last evening, "The Follies" did not appear, but to night the company will appear without fail. EMPRESS THEATRE. The star picture for to-night's change of programme at the above theatre depicts the great work of Bunyan'a "Pilgrims' Progress." This picture reaches the highest realism yet secured in picturedom. The film exceeds 4000 feet in lengh, and portrays the main features in the book. The supporting films are of the usual educational, scenic, dramatic, and comic series, and the picture-loving public should not miss seeing this programme, as for excellence it should be unsurpassed. BOWLING CLUB BALL. The annual ball, held in connection with the Te Kuiti Bowling and Croquet Club was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening. A largo number attended, and the ball was voted to be a very great success. The ladies' committee, with Mrs Huddle slon as secretary, were largely responsible for the succeßß attained, and are to be congratulated upon the auccesd which attended their efforts. Mr E. A. Power made an efficient M.C. The floor was in excellent order, and the music, supplied by Mr Christian, all that could be desired. It is hoped that a substantial sum will be available for the club's funds.
