PIO PIO DOG TRIALS.

A SUCCESSFUL MEETING. The first annual meeting of the Pio Pio Collie Club was held at Pio Pio on Thursday and Friday last. The meeting proved to be an unqualified success, and great credit is due to Mr R. Livingston, president, and the willing band of officers who worked with him. special credit being due to Mr Geo. Brown, secretary, upon whom a large amount of the work fell and he carried out his duties in an able manner. The weather on Thursday was all that could be desired, but Friday, unfortunately, was wet and cold. A large number of people from all the surrounding districts present, and took a keen interest in the various events. The competitions were keenly contested, and aome good work carried out by the various competitors. The trials were held on Mr Willis' property, adjoining the saleyards., and which proved to be an ideal place for holding trials. On Thursday evening an enjoyable smoke concert Was held Mr R. Livingston presiding. The competitions resulted as follows:

Class 1, Bring Back and Yard.—McMullian 1, Goldfinch 2, McCormick 3. Class 2. Driving and Yarding.— Goldfinch 1, Paynter 2, H. Voyce 3. Class 3, Huntaway.—Lett 1, McCormick 2, Holes 3. Class 4 (local), Huntaway, Head, Bring Back and Yard—H. Vocye 1, R. Livingston 2,
