Percy Coaler;, engineer, a recent arrival from England, appeared to have become suddenly mad. Mrs Coates, who wan cooking breakfast, wasshot in (he hack with a revolver by her husband, and Sled. A second shot entered her arm. She ran to the police station. The police, on going to the houno found a boy, aged four, shot dead. A boy, aged five, was alive, but, had boon shot in the head and wrist,. Coaton was found unconscious with a nhot in the temple. Coaton in not expected to recover. He has lately been depressed. Tho others are not. seriously injured. Coates was known as "Pessimistic Percy," owing to his doleful view of life. Ho arrived nine months ago, and the family followed in March. Questioned about, a revolver ho war? handling on Thursday, ho told his wife it would be alright if ho remained with her, but it was a "cola world for charity."
