Two exactly opposite conditions have helped materially to bring about a rise of Id per lb in tho price of butter right throughout New Zealand, states the Otago Daily Times. Those conditions are tho drought in Auckland district and tho floods in Southland, which have brought about a shortage of milk in these two localities, and consequently tho butter supplies of Otago and Canterbury are being called on to a much greater extent than is usual at this time of the year.
