The points at Hitching railway station were wedged with stones just before the Great Norhorn express paased. A. young woman wiib seen on the embankment, and the act is attributed to the suffragettes. A suffragette plot to burn the Standard newspaper office was frustrated. SUFFRAGETTES IN DANGER. A THREATENING MOB. Received this day, !) -15 a.m. London, Friday. Mr G. Lansbury and Mrß Drummond have been remanded on charges of inciting to violence. Two suffragettes hoisted Hags at the Fife monument, inscribed "Death or Liberty," and distributed leaflets. They were forced to take refuge in a house and bolted the door. The police broke down the door and arrested the women. A largo force of polico Drofrected the suffragettes from huge and threatening crowd, who were shouting "duck them in the Thames."' After sheltering at Mm police station for some hours the women were released.
