The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:— We held a sale of sheep and cattle at Ohaupo on Tuesday last, when our entry comprised 4800 sheep and 754 head of cattle. There was a keen demand for sheep of all classes, and most satisfactory prices were realised but cattle were rather dull of sale, with the exception of calves and eighteen month? steers, which were wanted: Prices—Fat lambs 13s to 13s 6d, good woolly lambs 9s 9d to 12s, store lambs 6s 6d to 8s 9d, a line of shorn ewes lambs 10s 3d, shorn wether lambs 10s Id, fat eweß 13s 5d to 14s 6d two tooth ewes 14s 9d, f.f.m. ewes 9s 9d to lis Id, others 7s 3d to 8s 9d two and a half to three year steers £5 7s to £5 lis, eighteen months steers £3 13s to £4 is, cows and calves £5 2s 6d to £5 7s 6d, good fat heifers £5 5s to £6 10s, cows in forward condition £4 15s to £5, store cows £3 10s to £3 Newton King reports:— At Rahotu on Bth inst., for my autumn cattle fair there was a very big entry, all pens, races, and side paddocks being fully taxed. There waß a splendid attendance of buyers from all parts of Taranaki, making competition good for all lines offered, practically the whole yarding of 800 head of cattle being cleared at the hammer. About 320 head of weaners were yarded these meeting with a very keen demand. I supply prices : Choice coloured weaner heifers £3 4s 9d to £3 17s 6d, grade weaner heifers 32s 6d to 42s 6d, mixed weaners, bset
