AWAKING DOG TRIALS.
The Awakino Collie Club held tl: ']■; seventh annual meeting on Mr W. D. Thompson's farm on Wednesday and Thurdßday last. The weather was perfect and. the arrangements were excellent. Good nominations had -been received and some fine work was witnessed. The various classes resulted as follows:
CLASS I.—Heading (about 440 yds), bring back and yard.—Time allowed, 15 minuteß. First prize, £4, second £2, third £l. Points: Heading 5, bring back 5, command 8, style 6, yarding 6- -total 30. R. McMullian's Fly, 4, 4, 7, 4.. 6 25, 1; A. R. Blacks' Snooks, 4, 3, 6, 4, 6—23, 2; W. McCormick's King, 4, 3, 6, 4, —, —37, 3. CLASS ll.—Driving and Yarding Competitions, with two dogs, about 300ydB. Time allowed 15 minutes, Firßc prize £6, second £3, third £l. Points: Driving 8, style 8, command 8, yarding 6—total3o. R. McMullian's Flo and Roy, 7, 7, 8, 6—28, 1; B. Lett's Gyle and Speed, 6, 6, 6, 6—24, 2; W. McCormick's Laddie and King, 5, 6, 6, 6—23, 3. CLASS lll.—Huntaway between three sets of flags, each flag placed one chain apart on a zigzag course, about 400 yds long.—Time allowed 12 minutes. First prize £4, second £2, third £l. Points: Huntaway 8, command 10, style 6, noise 6—total 30. W. McCormick's Laddie, 6, 9, 4, 5 —24, 1; A. R. Black's Snip. 6, 8, 4, 5—23, 2; B. Lett's Gyle, 5, 7, 3, 5 —2O, 3.
CLASS IV. Huntaway, head, bring back, and hold in ring .—About 440 yds. Time allowed 18 minutes. Firßt prize £5, second £2, third £l. Points: Huntaway 5, noise in hunting 5, head 5, bring back 6, holding 4 total 30.
