POLO.

The annual Auckland Provincial Polo Tournament, commenced at Te Awamutu yesterday, and will continue up to Friday. The tournament will conclude with polo sports on Saturday. As a mark of appreciation of the Te Awamutu Club's performance in filling the position of "runner-up" in the recent polo championship at Palmerston North, the<Te Awamutu Town Band are giving their services at the sports free of charge. The action of the band is much appreciated by the polo club. The following teams are competing: —Te Awamutu, Hamilton, Cambridge, Waitomo Ohaupo, and Te Awamutu B. There are two cups to be competed for, viz.: the Auckland Provincial Cub, now held by Te Awamatu, and the Handicap Cup. The visiting teams have good paddocking provided for their ponies. The town hall has been booked for various entertainments during the week.
