When three hours out (hey kilbd the steersman and a passenger, and wounded four other Chinese- passengers. They tied up Captain, Holmes Chiof Officer Cornwall, and Engineer Macartney, and attempted to hum the lady missionaries' cabin, hot were persuaded by a missionary not to kill, the English officers. After stealing fifteen hundred dollars in cash and many valuables the pirates disabled the engines and escaped in boats.
