PIO PIO.
Own Correspondent. The stock sale held here on Thursday last was highly satisfactory. The yards were full, while tho bidding was brisk and prices all round very good. It looks well for tho coming winter to see stock looking so well; and the Bheep yarded on Thursday last would draw attention anywhere by their splendid condition.
A dance giveti in the Town Hall on the 17th inat. was highly satisfactory to the promoters a large number turning out, and in spite of the heat and great number danced vigorously till morning. The metalling is going ahead very fast, and Mr H. Rothery is to be congratulated on the way he pushes his work ahead.
It will be a comfort to the settlers to know that a doctor has actually settled in our midst, rather a plucky thing, and I am sure we all wish him well, but trust for our own sakes that his practice will not bo a large one.
