FOUND DEAD.

- - By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent. Marokopa, This Day. An old man named Charles Tredwell was found dead in a paddock close to where he was residing, by a native woman on Monday morning. Deceased was a Crimean veteran, and was all through the Maori war. His age is estimated to be over eighty. He was the first white man in this part of the King Country, coming here over twenty years ago. An inquest was held yesterday before Mr W. J. Shaw, district coroner. A verdict of death from eart failure was returned.
